Abstract

The demand for energy saving is increasing at an enormous rate as the economy of the countries is growing. Apart from them, developing a highly efficient and low-cost heat transfer device such as heat pipe system is becoming more important due to the development of industries. Typical heat pipes have played an important role in the heat dissipation and the thermal management systems. A thermosyphon as a condensation and evaporation device could transfer latent heat of vapor that flow from the evaporator section to the condenser section over long distances with negligible heat loss. This study explores the effect of 6063 Aluminium Alloy Elliptical Thermosyphon using Graphene Nanofluid. The container material and the cross section of the thermosyphon play an important role in heat transfer. The heat load is varied between 60 to 100 w, orientation of the pipe is kept 30 deg to 90 deg and the flow rate of water in the condenser section range from 60 ml/min to 120ml/min. In this work the elliptical thermosyphon effect has been analysed with graphene nano fluid. A substantial thermal resistance reduction and the improvement in efficiency have been achieved.
